Dr. Smith's background
Born into a large family of eight children, Dr. Smith grew up in Hesperia, California. Three of his siblings—and even his wife and daughter—are involved in the dental field. After fifteen years as a survival guide, Dr. Smith pursued his true calling by completing his Bachelor of Science at Cal State San Bernardino, followed by postgraduate studies and dental school at The Ohio State University. Since then, he has pursued advanced training in oral conscious sedation, nitrous oxide, Invisalign, implantology, digital dentures, and full-mouth implant restorations. He is an active member of several respected professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
Dr. Smith's philosophy of care
Dr. Smith believes dental care should be compassionate, comfortable, and empowering. "People deserve healthy teeth that they are happy to see in a photo," he says. He knows firsthand how much a smile can impact one's confidence and quality of life—he didn't smile in photos himself until his 30s. His philosophy centers on making dental visits as pleasant and pain-free as possible, helping every patient leave the chair feeling better physically and emotionally. Dr. Smith Outside of the office
When he's not at the dental office, Dr. Smith is often found immersed in nature or staying active well into the night. A passionate hiker, camper, and off-roader, he enjoys teaching primitive survival skills, such as fire-making and foraging. He's also an avid cook and a regular at the gym—especially during the quiet hours of 1–2 a.m., thanks to his lifelong insomnia. Family is at the heart of everything he does, and Dr. Smith takes great pride in the shared love for dentistry that runs deep in his household.
